Twitter May Suck, But Pownce Sucks Just as Much

So, like all Twitter users, I’ve been somewhat frustrated with the amount of downtime. As a back-up plan, I decided to go back to my Pownce account.

Twitter has problems, but it’s not alone. Look what greeted me on my attempt to add new friends to Pownce…

FAIL!

Pilgrim’s Picks for June 7 - Google Favicon Edition

It’s going to reach 100F in Raleigh today. That means staying inside is pretty much the only thing to do today. So, seeing as I’m stuck inside, I thought I’d share some weekend Picks.

First up, Google has revealed the process it went through to come up with its new favicons:

There were, apparently, a whole bunch of rejects:

Anyway, it seems even Google’s not married to the new favicons. It’s seeking your suggestions too!

OK, on to other Picks…

I don’t agree with Rafe Needleman’s suggestion that Twitter should shut down, while it does some repairs. Sure, outages might send users elsewhere, but closing the doors will guarantee it!
Google’s PR wheels are on full spin, with its recap of the opening ceremony of its new Lenoir, NC data center.
I’ve just made the switch to Firefox 3–even though Google has yet to release a compatible toolbar!–and if you’re considering the switch, this great video will walk you through the new features. Be warned, not all my bookmarks transferred, and I had to re-enter a lot of passwords, but overall the switch has been worth it.
Meanwhile, Google’s spending big bucks on outdoor advertising in Russia.
