TV on the Radio - Will Do by 1077 The End

TV on the Radio has some new song. Tried to listen, skipped around, was pretty boring... but as always, u can expect every1 to 'totally love' this song and everything that TV on the Radio does.

Really don't have much 2 say. I guess this is a 'relevant release', but u get the feeling that TV on the Radio will never reach 'ANCO status.' I wonder if it is a racial thing, or if they come across as 'too much of a rock band.' Maybe they are 'too high end' and don't appeal to overgrounders in a direct way like Radiohead or the Strokes can.

But u never know. TV on the Radio might debut with the #1 album in America. Not really bleepy bloopy, dubsteppy, lofi, or chillwave enough for me.

Here is some song by Angel Deradoorian called "Marichka." U might know her better as 'one of the hot altbaguettes' who helped the Dirty Projectors 2 achieve critical success because u can go to their shows and watch the keut girls on stage, and visualize a life where u move 2 Brooklyn and get in2 a relationship and start farming on ur rooftop together or something like that.

Anyways, this song was 'produced' by Avey Tare, who recently divorced his ex-wife Kria Brekken... We all know that Avey likes 2 create special things with his partner...so if we can assume that they are a 'couple' maybe they might be 'the next big indie couple' now that WAVVES and Best Coast are overexposed and boring.

Doesn't really matter if I find this song to be boring/bleak/pointless...u can't deny the undeniable attraction to the altbaguette personal brand of Angel...

Most bloggers are males, so most cute indie female artists could just 'fart' on an mp3, and it would get mad blog coverage.

Should Angel Deradoorian and Avey Tare 'get in2 a public indie relaish' just 4 hits, or have they already established relevancy?
Should they have some babies like Bjork and that artist bro?
Will Animal Collective 'kick out' Geologist and replace him with Angel Deradoorian?

I just saw this video interview of Best Coast and WAVVES, sitting down with the #1 indie videojournalist in the world, John Norris. This is 'only a clip of the entire 20 minute interview', and they talk about how they do drugs and they are hella chill and kewl and stuff. Not sure if I want 2 sit thru 20 minutes of this, though. They sorta just seem like seasoned drug veteran 32 year olds who talk abt how 'drugs make u smarter' and other statements like that.

At this point, it's kinda just like 'we get it.' Sorta worried abt them. Some1 needs to tell their publicists 2 get them 2 shut down their twitter accounts and 'go dormant' for AT LEAST 6 months. Definitely have just become 'memes that incidentally make music' as opposed to 'musicians who release strategic memes 2 help their careers.'

Bethany looks rlly happy with him, though. I feel happy 4 her if he makes her stronger... G-d bless u, Bethers... But don't let Nathan bring u down if he doesn't show u the love that u deserve <3

Anyways, what did u think of this video? Did Johnathan Norris assault them with 'hard hitting questions'?

Some artist paints a creepy portrait of Ezra Koenig

Some artist is painting pictures of indie singers, and Ezra Koenig is probably the most famous person he has painted, so seems like this is a 'relevant' thing 2 post. Like many entry-level alt tween girls, I usually do a google search 4 Ezra every day and think abt what it will be like when I finally get to d8 him, and he takes me on tour and eventually makes me the 5th member of Vampy Weeks [via the indie Yoko Ono].

But until then... I guess all I can really keep doing is making my creepy fan art and mailing it 2 his parents' house (along with cutting off my hair, skin, fingernails and miscellanous extremities).

Artist Joe Simpson is working on a series of detailed paintings of his favorite musicians' faces. So far, he has completed portraits of indie royalty like Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig (above), the National's Matt Berninger, Iron & Wine's Sam Beam, and more. Each of the paintings is 60 centimeters by 60 centimeters, in oil on canvas. To create the paintings, Simpson meets the artist and takes photos. He'll display all the portraits in a solo exhibition later this year.

Daft Punk partners with Coke 2 release new flavor + 'branded experience'

It makes me rlly sad thinking abt how Daft Punk's career turned out. Sure they wrote one of the greatest electronic/dance albums of all time... but then they 'sold out' [via Disney] 2 do Tron. Now they are partnering with another billion dollar Fortune 500 company, Coca Cola, in order to go more mainstream and make more easy money.

I guess u gotta give them props 4 riding the robot brand all the way to the bank...but at the same time... sorta just wish they'd sample some solid dance music and make music worth blogging abt again, instead of just coasting off their pre-existing brand.

Following a successful collaboration with Mika in 2010, soft drink giant Coca-Cola partners up with another major act in 2011 as they introduce the Daft Punk x Coca-Cola “Club Coke”. Produced in two distinctive colorways, mimicking the helmets worn by the French duo, the gold and silver bottles will see a limited production run beginning in March 2011. In addition to the general release at clubs, the bottles will be packaged in a collector’s box as a set, made available in exclusively through colette in Paris. Part of me only wants to drink Daft Coke 4 the rest of my life...

Deerhunter goes on Letterman, Bradford Cox jimmy jangles a tambourine

I just watched this video of Deerhunter on Letterman playing the song "Memory Boy." It seems kinda weird when these indie buzzbands are asked on Letterman 1-2 years after their album cycle is over, but they still have to do it because it 'seems like a big deal 4 an indie band.'</embed>

Anyways, Bradford Cox didn't play guitar, so he just had 2 jimmy jangle a tambourine on stage.

Every other dude in the band who is probably angry at Bradford Cox 4 being more famous than them and hogging the spotlight really tried to 'go all out' and make it seem like they are Radiohead circa 1990 or something.

Is Letterman 'more alt' than Conan and Fallon?

Panda Bear to release new techno album

I just saw this album art for a new Panda Bear single, and I can't help but think that he is releasing some sort of techno album/EP/single. Not really sure that the difference between all of those is, but u gotta give Panda Bear props 4 generating both TOMBOY (a drone wave album) and this new techno album.

Really wonder if the new techno sound will spill over in2 the new AnCo record.

I feel really excited 2 hear the new techno era Panda Bear. The album art must be some sort of metaphor, because it looks like some sort of chill forest, but then it is all like TECHNO.
