It seems like the local news anchormans were like 'Take it away Serene Branson' then she totally got lost and was unable 2 speak. If I had 2 guess, she is probably all like "Arcade fire Who? The won what? Huh? Ble blah bloo blaarg. Stage fright. Boom goes the dynamite. Nvr heard of them. 2 indie. Lady Gaga shoulda won. Or maybe Sheryl Crow. Can't even talk. The club can't even handle me rite now." Do u think she really 'had a stroke' or was she just 'going viral' 2 help her career? Were tons of mainstreamers 'speechless' abt the Arcade Fire victory? Or did the majority of lamestreamers 'speak out against' the Arcade Fire? R u worried abt Serene Branson? R u glad that she didn't have a stroke and was just 'speechless' bc of the Arcade Fire victory? A statement posted on her station's Web site Monday reads, "Serene Branson was examined by paramedics on scene immediately after her broadcast. Her vital signs were normal. She was not hospitalized. As a precautionary measure, a colleague gave her a ride home and she says that she is feeling fine this morning." INDIE GONE MAINSTREAM: GRAMMY 2K11 RECAP Posted: 14 Feb 2011 11:02 AM PST Another year, another crappy awards ceremonies where mainstream celebs try to throw down memes that get blogged about as indie music fans 'wish for' acceptance from mainstreamers. But this year, indie 'finally got recognized' and now every1 has mixed feelings. Seems like it is just time 2 start consuming indie + mainstream music 'side-by-side.' 2k11: The Year of the ArFi "We did it." -the Arcade Fire Here is the moment where Barbara Streisand announces that they won and Win is like "What the Hell?" Kinda pissed at him for thanking Canada even though he is from Houston and the Suburbs of America are what inspired him 2 write this album. Really an unchill move by him. Also Regine babbled something in French. Sorta needs to realize how 2 respect America + the American indie dream. "Ur telling me the ginger bro gets his own Grammy statue? I thought they got 1 and they had 2 share it." They 'hid' Regine on drums, which was probably a good call instead of letting her sing Sprawl II and ruining any opportunities they had 2 convert new fans. Here is the Arcade Fire performing "Month of May" as sweet ass BMX bikers ride around on stage. Wonder if this is some sort of co-branding with the X-Games or something. It seems like the still went to try to improve their market share in our post-Arcade Fire 'best band in the world' indiemainstreamosphere. Do yall think "Contra" was better than "The Suburbs"? Anyways, they were interviewed by some 'talking head gossip losers' who are trying to end up hosting Entertainment Tonight [via John Tesh], but right now they are stuck working 'the side stage' of the Grammys, interviewing bands that they aren't really familiar with even though Vampy Weeks sold mad albums. Feel kinda bad 4 the band 4 having 2 talk 2 these schmucks. Wish they had the 'indie etiquette' of a music blogger, doing the proper wikipedia research and asking 'unique, innovative questions' that the band 'has never answered before.' It must be a UK thing, like they wanted to let North America know that their music is 'way better'/'more relevant' than the crap we export from here. Really an unchill indie move by them, but I guess u shouldn't expect anything more from 'the Owl City of dubstep' as many critics call them. The members of Radiohead say they'll make their eighth full-length album, The King of Limbs, available for purchase and download this coming Saturday on the band's website. According to the site, they're calling it "the world's first newspaper album." It includes two 10-inch vinyl records, a CD, more than 600 pieces of artwork and a digital download. The physical album will ship on May 9, while the downloadable version will be available Saturday. Oh damn. Ur not gonna In_Rainbows that shit? Guess yall are pretty greedy.
