Guess it just demonstrates that music doesn't even matter any more. It is just abt 'fame' and 'zany photo opps.' Lady Gaga probably already 'won' Best Meme of the Night even though the awards haven't started because she showed up in some egg. Not sure if this is a metaphor, or if she is just trying 2 be 'zany-sational.' Really chill of her 2 have slaves of many different colours carrying her in egg-format. Is Lady Gaga 'the ultimate performance artist'? Is she a 'genius'? Do lamestreamers <3 'anything she does'? Do u think Madonna is 'pissed' that she never did anything this conceptual and was basically only ever a 'simple slutwaver'? Do u wish we could throw her egg into a fire or maybe hardboil her ass? Regine ruins another Arcade Fire performance, Win wears cool dad sweater Posted: 13 Feb 2011 01:46 PM PST Once again, the Arcade Fire do some performance where they act like they are 'God's gift to mainstream and indie music.' They've been in Los Angeles for the Grammies, so they are trying to generate memes that make them seem 'less mainstream'. They had a 'secret show' [link] and now they 'graced' the vintage rock radio station KROQ with their presence, and did 2 songs. As you can see in the first song, they weren't quite sure what to do with Regine, so they just gave her some soft drum sticks and let her bang on a cymbal. Sorta like if u had a 5 year old in ur band, and u wanted them to feel included. I wonder if this is the 'modern' version of jimmy jangling on a tambouring [via Oliver Sim / Zooey Deschanel]. Oh Regine... Ur so beautiful... Wearing ur acid washed t-shirt What r u doing in that band? Go solo, bb Win will be nothing without u... Go solo, bb Go solo [with me] Then they did the song "Month of May". No real highlights. Standard Win, Regine hidden on piano, Ginger bro makes faces, violinist female slaves/scenery do their thing where they have to act like they are 'thankful' to be in the band. I wonder if this 'cool dad' sweater is some sort of sign that Win Butler + Regine are planning on having a kid soon... U can also tell that Win recently went to Supercuts to get his hair 'shaved down' so that he can look as alt as possible when they perform on the Grammies. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like he really got the sound down, so u kinda get the vibe that Rostam is the 'Paul McCartney'/Panda Bear of Vampire Weekend and Ezra is the Deakin/Linda McCartney of the group. Ezra Broenig sorta starts 2 crush it, but then it seems like the tab website he vibed on got 'complicated' and he sorta had to bail. But u know the old blogosphere saying: "You can never say no 2 a new Vampy Weeks MP3." Sorta wonder if he is just doing this cover to 'get ready' 4 the Grammies. Like he knows that this is Vampire Weekend's "big moment" to 'crossover' and double album sales, so he is just preparing an old familiar hit 4 every1.
