I gotta feeling...
That 2nite's gonna be a good nite
that 2nite's gonna be a meaningful nite
That 2nite I'm gonna see the Arcade Fire at a super secret Los Angeles show before they play the Grammies on Sunday night but had to do a 'secret show' so they didn't seem too mainstream and isolate their fans
That 2nite's gonna be on fire via Arcades.
Waiting in line overnite
For the chance to see the Arcade Fire at an intimate show
I actually saw them right after "Funeral" was released
so I'm not unfamiliar with the low-key Arcade Fire show
But sometimes it takes extraordinary measures
to facilitate extraordinarily meaningful times
Which is why I am camping out for these tix
Which is why I am sleeping on my futon mattress on a dirty LA street

The area seemed to have converted into an 'alt shanty town'
Many passersby thought we were an alt freegan homeless community
But if only they knew
we were just overgrounders in search of an authentic musical performance
It's great to be around so many like-minded people
Who don't value material things (except $30 tickets)
But instead value the opportunity 2 see the greatest Bruce Springsteen tribute band in the world
Playing some of the best white person music being made right now

I even met a dog named "Sprawl Pt Dog"
Whose favorite band is the Arcade Fire
Made me smile
I talked with so many people
I protected my place in line
I made $100 offering some1 'chinese cuts' 2 have the opportunity 2 stand in line behind me
[via Craigslist]

It was all worth it
when I got to the box office
and said "I'd like to purchase 250 tickets"
Then they were like "Okay... Hmmm..."
Then I bought all the tickets
then every1 behind me was told 'the show was sold out. Sorry"
Then I put them on craigslist, ebay, and stubhub
Made over $10K

I know I was pumped to see the Arcade Fire at first
But I mean
Cmon
Not really that good
Dudes peaked like 5 years ago
I don't wanna be the dude tweeting abt how 'sweet' of an experience
the secret ArFi show is
When I first saw them
Twitter didn't even exist
So I guess waiting in that line
Gave me time 2 think abt what indie and the Arcade Fire meant 2 me
And I guess I was being sillie
Doesn't matter how 'special' an experience feels
How 'unique' a 'secret show' is
My life will always be the same
Maybe I've 'outgrown' the thrill of the live music experience
Used to think
My taste in music made me special/unique
But I am not so sure any more. It was comforting to find ppl with similar interests...
but at the end of the day
no1 understands me
and I am alone
Will the Arcade Fire officially get their 'lamestreamer' stamp of approval when they win a Grammy?
Do u <3 the era of indie scalping?
Would u ever wait in line overnight for the chance to see an indie band, or would u rather 'make some calls' and get VIP access to the concert?
Do indie bands and Southwest airlines make u feel like cattle being 'herded' around?
Do authentic indie bands really 'make their fans' 'wait' in these types of degrading lines?

Do yall miss Regine?
