From what I understand, no1 uses myspace any more because it is 'a completely worthless' social networking site, but since there are still over 100 million 'registered users', there is still a little bit of value there. They ppl who own Myspace are 'focusing on music' trying to make their site a relevant place where bands can have websites, except it is rlly ugly and not very useful, so every1 h8s myspace.

Feel bad for the bros who were chilling hard, working for Myspace. I'm sure they had moments in the past where they were like "myspace is gonna last forever." However, it seems like they were hella wrong, as myspace continues 2 lose value every day. They got 'fired' [via George Clooney Up in the Air style] just so Myspace can lose a lil bit less money.

MySpace Inc. said Tuesday that the company has fired 47 percent of its workforce - about 500 employees - as the deposed social-networking king continues trying to mount a comeback as an online entertainment hub.

Do u think a company will be 'dumb enough' 2 purchase Myspace?

MySpace has about 110 million members worldwide, a still sizable number, but a far cry from Facebook Inc., which is estimated to have close to 600 million active members.

Jones said that despite the layoffs, the company has made progress toward reinventing itself as an online destination for entertainment tailored for younger Internet users.

I wonder if Myspace should 'acquire vevo' or something [via no1 really knows why they exist, but are some how potentially making/losing money].

Some tech startup names their website 'Hipster' just 2 get blog coverage

Some 'startup' web company named themselves 'Hipster.' They are getting 'tons of tech blog coverage' just to get tons of 'hipster bashing' and 'oddly enough' coverage. No1 really knows what the hell their service will do, but HRO Tech Insiders can guarantee that this service will add no value 2 any1's life.

It seems like they started out as some sort of 'pyramid scheme' registration gimmick, which means they are doomed 2 fail bc there is no way they would offer a valuable service if they had 2 be all gimmicky.

Here is an intro segment from a mainstream tech blog where they choose to name-drop 'MGMT' instead of 'Vampire Weekend.'

Is it just me or is everyone and their skinny jeans wearing, MGMT-listening mothers a hipster nowadays? Nowhere is this more evident than in tech (thanks Twitter). And behold, the latest sign of the tech hipster-ocalypse, a startup actually called Hipster.

The company is in “stealth” mode and asking people not to say what they do publicly. But they’re pimping themselves hard on Hacker News, offering “earlier access” if you invite 3 friends. Of course.

I remember when my buzzband was in 'stealth mode', before we sent 'press release' emails 2 bloggers, but then we left private beta alpha stealth, and emailed bloggers, but then we didn't get any press, so we are still kinda in 'accidental stealth' mode.

Do u think Hipster is going 2 be a buzzworthy company that will replace Facebook?
Will Hipster be a social network for buzzbands / buzz humans?

Here is something that the 'founder' said abt why HIPSTER is a kewl name 4 a 'startup' business.

“I feel that the term “Hipster” has been used so frequently in recently years, that it seems to have lost virtually all meaning – its kind of like a blank slate to project whatever ‘Hipster’ image you want. We’re now left with an easy to spell, memorable name that makes most people laugh.”

Wonder if they did some sort of meaningful 'feasibility study' or if they were like 'let's just follow our passion and see if we can get some organic viral buzz.'

Just listened to this new mp3 called "Ducktails - Killin the Vibe (feat. Panda Bear)." I am not sure if Ducktails has an established alt-brand yet, so I had to 'construct the headline' 2 get more hits [via milking the Panda Bear brand]. Know yall understand, but I think we're all here to assess what Panda Bear 'brought 2 the table' in this collab with Ducktails.

Think the song is 'mad chill.' First it sounded really forgettable, but then I was like 'nah this is chill', so I guess now Ducktails 'has my attention' as a buzzband because of this co-branded single. From what I understand, he is a 'solo bro' going after the whole 'lofi bedroom recording However, I wonder if Panda Bear is gonna 'man it up' and 'deliver on TOMBOY.

Really hope TOMBOY comes out by 2k14...

I'm not sure who actually watches The Colbert Report. Feel like the era of people 'getting off' on 'comical snarky intellectual superiority' [via politics] is way ovr. Anyways, the Colby Reports did some sort of long winded skit featuring the Black Keys (a cool dad band that I haven't really ever listened 2 because they are basically branded as a more authentic Kings of Leon) and Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend. They basically 'made fun of themselves' 4 'being in so many commercials' but I am not sure if it was rlly that funny/enlightening.

I feel bad for Ezra. He seems like he really 'half assed' his lines, showing a lack of trust in the Colbert Report writers. It seems like the audience is rlly 'timid' as the 'skit' moves incredibly slowly. Sorta just had to skim around since it had the writing level of 'high school talent show humorous act' or something. Feel awkward.

Really can't believe this segment is 9+ minutes. I feel bad for network late night shows that have 2 kill an hour instead of just 30 minutes.
