BREAKING NEWS: Animal Collective releases artsy fartsy music video for hit 2k9 song “Bluish”

Posted: 22 Sep 2010 01:39 PM PDT

’s hit album Merriweathering Around in a Post Pavillion Yall basically came out 3 years ago in 2k9. For some reason, they just released a new music video for the song “Bluish”, a song abt getting lost in curls / a love letter to the woman who squirted out a child for u. Not sure why there is a new music video. If I had to guess, this is probably just ‘cutting room floor’ footage from their hit film ODDSAC. Not sure if the video means anything, it seems like it is just blue tinted shit. Seems chill, I guess. Guess u can’t really ‘shit on them’ or else tons of indie anco fans get all pissed @ur_blog.

Maybe the bros are ‘too blazed’ to realize that their album came out multiple years ago, and they don’t have to make a music video for it any more, since their album isn’t new enough to ‘generate organic buzz.’ Do music videos exist for the sake of ‘making art’, or are they just memes that are meant to promote an album, generate interest, and inspire purchases / fan conversion?

Do u <3 this music video?
Is "Bluish" quietly 'the best song on MPP?
Do u 'want more' from ?

Just looked at the description on youtube and it looks like they credited some1 as being a ‘bubble artist’:

Director: Jason Oliver Goodman
Assistant Director: Marymichael D’Onofrio
Producer: Andy Carlson
DP: Doug Emmett
Editor: Joe Kriksciun
Compositing and coloring: Alex Arce
Stylist: Keeva Halferty
Dancer: Taryn Look
Art Department: Amy Henry and Gail Stoicheff
Bubble Artist: ChelseaTran of Gazillion Bubble Show
Gaffer: TJ Alston
Key Grip: Chad Battinelli
AC: Johnny Sousa

Should I go 2 art school and major in ‘bubble art’?

Is MPP gonna be their last album?
Is AnCo ‘breaking up’?
Does Avey h8 Pandy?
Do u want less conceptual videos from AnCo?
Do u wish the AnCo bros just ‘buffed up’ Kings of Leon style and the video featured them playing with black kids?

Alt Celeb Elijah Wood goes to fashion show, eyeball fucks premium model ass

Posted: 22 Sep 2010 12:31 PM PDT

Gotta give it up 4 my boy Elijah Wood. He ‘killed it’ in the indie movie “The Lord of the Rings”, turning it from a low budget lofi indie flick into a bonafide mainstream cash cow trilogy. Really transitioned from child star to adult actor without ‘going crazy’, doing mad drugs, and killing himself [via the Two Coreys / Stephanie Tanner meth addict].

Anyways, he went to some alternative show, and it looks like he really ‘analyzed the clothes with a critical eye’ / eyeball fucked some models hard. He was probs like, “I’m Frodo, yall. Just gotta protect the ring on my peen. ” [via simplification of celebrities based on their on-screen personalities].

I see Elijah bro in the background. Hehe. U think he is analyzing clothes or just checking out premium grade-A model ass?

Frodbro seems chill. Feel like any chill bro would go to a show, ‘pretend to be into clothes’ but really just visualize getting to ‘bang’ tons of models who are trying to ‘make it’ in ‘the industry’.

Is Elijah Wood ‘chill’?
Is he a ‘peeping tom’, except chilling in public?
When ur famous, do u get to go to a show, then ‘hand pick’ the model that u want, kinda like a bath house / whore house?
Was Lord of the Rings ur fave indie movie / graphic novel of all time?
Is Elijah Wood a good actor, or does he just look into the camera ‘longingly’ with his ‘beautiful, blue eyes’?
Do u think Elijah Wood could have ‘saved’ Scott Pilgrim / 500 Days of Summer / Juno?

Horrorcore Rapper/Murderer Syko Sam will rot behind bars 4 the rest of his juggalo life

Posted: 22 Sep 2010 10:19 AM PDT

I remember a long time ago, a horrorcore rapper killed an entire family just because he listened to lyrics that celebrated killing people, chopping them up, and having sex with their dead bodies. I even penned a long opinion piece that inspired ‘tons of hate’ from the juggalo community [link].

Anyways, this crazy juggalo horrorcore rapper killed named an entire family some time last year. Justice has finally ‘prevailed’ and he is gonna get life in prison. Relieved he is ‘off the streets’ and won’t be able to harm any non-juggalo humans any more. Do u think he will meet some juggalos in prison, and they will start a buzzband in prison?

According to a report in the Richmond Times-Dispatch, Richard Samuel Alden McCroskey III has pleaded guilty in the deaths of four people in the Farmville murders last year. He pleaded on two counts of first degree murder and two counts of capital murder.

As a part of a plea agreement, he was sentenced to life in prison for the murders of a Longwood University Professor, Debra S Kelley, her husband, a church pastor, Mark Niederbrock, their daughter, Emma, who was 16 and her 18 year old friend Melanie Wells, who was from West Virginia.

Have yall listened to any on ur iPod lately?

If I start a horrorcore act, do i have a good chance of being ‘almost murdered’ at the Gathering of the Juggalos [via Tila Tequila]?

Remind me not 2 invite any juggalo rappers who I met on the internet over 2 my house to sleep over.

Sixteen year old Emma had met the hardcore rapper online. He was said to have been visiting Emma from his California home. McCroskey recorded music which had graphic lyrics portraying murder and gore. The parents had taken Emma, "Sam" and Melania to a horrocore music festival in Michigan just a few days before the murders took place. The motive is unclear.

I wonder how many people have been killed/murdered at the Gathering of the Juggalos, but just sort of ‘forgotten’/thrown in2 a river.

R u happy that justice has ‘prevailed’?
Does deserve the death penalty?
Should ‘the government’ stop voting on Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell and start worrying abt horrorcore + juggalos?
Do juggalos even ‘vote’?
Is the juggalo community ‘sad’ that 1 of their best rappers is going to ‘burn in hell’ / ‘rot in prison’?

Crappy alt rock band OK GO keeps trying to ‘go viral’ even though no1 likes their music

Posted: 22 Sep 2010 06:42 AM PDT

“They’ve done it again. The Ok, Lets Go Yall are simply brilliant modern visionaries who truly understand how to market their products on the web using viral videos to go viral and generate organic buzz.” -a tween who is analyzing social media

Not sure what the deal with OK GO is. They went ‘viral’ one time because they did a zany dance on some treadmills when youtube first started/allowed videos to go viral, so now their whole career is all about ‘trying to re-capture the magic again’ and ‘go viral.’ Seems like they don’t even spend much time ‘writing music’ any more. Instead, they are just all like ‘let’s poop out an mp3, then spend 6 months training dogs/figuring out zany dance moves + video effects so we can go viral.’

Might become a video director and charge them $1 million for the ‘golden’ viral idea.

Do u think the treadmill video was ‘overrated’? Do u think OKGO helped youtube ‘go viral’?

Does OKGO need to ‘stop trying to go viral’ all of the time?
Do they have a core group of fans that ‘like’ their music, or does every1 only really pay attention to them when they watch 1 of their new videos, then they are like, ‘ya, not as good as that first video. Also just so many memes these days that u really gotta step up ur game if u wanna go mad viral.’

Will never forget the time me and my bros ‘went viral’ at our high school talent show by performing the OK GO viral video ‘live.’ Since every1 uses youtube, they were able to immediately identify, and connect with our art.

Is OK GO the epitome of lame ‘mainstream indie rock’?
Do u h8 marketing strategists who are obsessed with ‘organic buzz marketing’ + ‘going viral’?
Should OK GO release a ‘sex tape’ 2 go viral?
Should OK GO ‘mutilate’ their sex organs to get people to buy their music?
Is being in a buzzband all abt ‘making memes’ or ‘making music?

Ex-Chillwaving Jonas Brother tweets abt how ‘off da chain’ the new Chromeo album is

Posted: 22 Sep 2010 05:58 AM PDT

Joe Jonas is a popular brother in the popular rock band the . I remember one time he tweeted abt how ‘bad ass’ Neon Indian was [link], but it seems like now he has ‘moved on’, given up on chillwave indie vibes, and moved on to post-bloghouse dance act The .

It seems like is ‘gimmicky’ enough 2 be likable by mainstream markets, just as long as they are introduced in the right context, like at a meaningful music festival, or maybe in a sweet Mountain Dew commercial. I wonder if this means that has ‘made the leap’ and taken their ‘poor man’s Hall and Oates’ brand to the mainstream. After this tweet, is guaranteed at least a million digital mp3 sales?

Not sure if he is an authentic indie fan, though. He might be more of a Christian rock bro. He went on to tweet abt how ‘bad ass’ the popular mainstream Christian rock band Switchfoot is.

Sorta wish he would make up his mind: Is he all about Christian rock vibes + connecting with Jesus, or does he care more about ‘synth electro pop’ songs abt ‘feisty females who u just can’t seem to control’?

Is Joe Jonas the ‘ultimate indie fan’?
Do u think will ‘cross over’?
Will the try 2 sound ‘more electro’?
Will the try 2 sound ‘more spiritual’ [via Christian Switchfoots]?
When a mainstream famous person tweets abt an indie band, has the band ‘made it’ and will they see ‘an influx of fans’ + ‘surge in digital sales’?
Have u heard the new ? Is it ‘off the mother effing chain’?

Lamestreamer on facebook discovers kewl new song by MGMT called “KIDS”

Posted: 21 Sep 2010 06:49 PM PDT

Facebook is an unlimited goldmine for finding excerpts of humans ‘connecting’ on facebook. U can get vulnerable about anything–life, love, relationship status, and even connecting with other humans while u talk abt buzzbands. A lot of people find out about kewl bands and kewl songs using the ‘embed’ function on facebook.

In this lame wall to wall minifeed status convo, some entry-level alt ‘discovers’ MGMT’s hit song “KIDS.” The rest…is facebook historie.

At first, an entry level embeds MGMT’s “KIDS”, and is all like “I know I am going out on a limb cuz this is way different and unique… but I kinda like it. Might look more in2 this kind of music.  PS: My sis told me abt it.  She’s so alt.”

The 4 people ‘like’ it, making it clear, “Yeah, I’ve heard that song, bitches.”

Then some1 is like, “Yeah, I’ve been vibing 2 this song for soo long.  Saw them live, it was weird, but just wanted to put it on the record that I have known abt this song 4 so long.

Another alt comes along, and is like “Oh shit! This song is amazing! thnx 4 posting.  UR the effing best.  OMG jammin out hard.”

Some other banter /inside jokes are thrown down, but then out of nowhere the ultimate alt shows up.

The bro really ‘drops the hammer’ on the convo, and says “If u like MGMT, try pashy pit and the postal services, yall! Both effing sleigh/kill it.  U will not regret downloading their mp3s from iTunes.  Ur gonna like the way u look–I guarantee it!”

Really feel like I just ‘connected’ with the spirit of rock n roll. So many people say that the modern indie music sphere is ‘rotten’ and ‘despicable’, but they don’t witness this human-to-human interaction where bffs can recommend bands and share music so easily.

Really want to check out all of these bands.

Have u heard MGMT -KIDS.mp3?
Are these fans gonna be ‘pissed’ when they hear MGMT’s album “Congratulations” in 4 years?
Do u miss the “KIDS” era of MGMT?
Does Pashy Pit sound like MGMT?
Does Pashy Pit sound like poop?
MGMT = Pashy Pit = poop ?
Is Pashy Pit the ultimate mainstreamer indie band?
Is it still authentic to ‘recommend’ ppl 2 the Postal Service?
Are all of these bands ‘the shit’?
Do yall know of any other kewl bands I should check out?
