Map of America that illustrates density of Apple Users / tech gadget ass holes

Posted: 25 Apr 2010 04:01 PM PDT

Some map was created that shows the density of Apple users in America. It seems like people in real cities use Apple products. People who live in rural America are stuck on PCs / Dell Desktops / Cheap Hewlett Packards / Sony Vaios / other crappy Windows based computers. They probably don’t have many computers in the green parts of the map, like the ‘third world’ areas of the United States. Feel bad that not every1 can enjoy the functionality of Apple products, but they probably don’t even have good educations / a real job where a computer would be useful 2 them. They probably just need to count beans in these parts of the country, and don’t

Wonder if you can make other assumptions based on this map of Apple users. Like ‘all of these people read blogs’ or ‘all of these people are ass holes.’ Maybe ‘all of these people have fake jobs in the design + web development industry.’ or we can assume that this map also represents the density of ‘ass holes who use twitter.’ Do yall know how to interpret maps + statistics?

Do u live in one of these relevant Apple using communities, or are you stuck in suburbia? Are you stuck in suburbia, but do u have parents who paid for you to ‘be different from the rest’ by buying u an iPod touch?

1. San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose, CA: With Silicon Valley and Apple headquarters located squarely within the market's boundaries, it's no surprise that the San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose DMA ranks number one in the nation for owning or using one of the core Apple products. Residents here are 49% more likely than the average American to own or use an iPod, iPhone or Mac computer.
2. Boston, MA: Almost one-in-three adults in the Boston DMA (31.3%) own or use an iPod, iPhone or Mac computer making area residents 45% more likely than average to be Mac maniacs. And with 11 Apple stores located within the Boston DMA, residents never have to go far for their Apple fix.
3. San Diego, CA: San Diego-area residents are 42% more likely than the average American to be toting around an iPod, chatting on an iPhone or computing on a Mac. In fact, 31.8% of the San Diego DMA's 2.2 million adults are admitted Mac users.
4. New York, NY: Anyone can tell you that iPhones are about as common in New York City as taxis, which supports the fact that there are roughly 4.9 million Mac-users in the New York DMA. Of the almost 16 million adults in the area, 30.4% use either an iPod, iPhone or Mac computer.
5. Washington, D.C.: Residents of our nation's capitol can agree on at least one thing: their love for Apple. D.C.-area residents are 39% more likely than average to be found listening to an iPod, chatting on an iPhone or tapping away on a Mac computer.
6. Chicago, IL: The Chicago-area's eight Apple stores should keep plenty busy serving the DMA's 2.1 million adults who currently use one of the three core Apple products. An estimated 29.4% of adults in the Chicago DMA use iPods, iPhones or Mac computers, making them 36% more likely than average Americans to be Apple consumers.
7. Denver, CO: An estimated 863,000 adults of the Denver DMA's 3 million adult residents (29.1%) are Apple users, making Mile High City and surrounding area residents 35% more likely than average to use Apple's iPods, iPhones and computers.
8. Monterey-Salinas, CA: This upscale, coastal DMA located immediately south of the San Francisco DMA is home to barely a half million adults and only one (busy) Apple store. An estimated 151,000 adults in the area (28.1%) own or use iPods, iPhones and/or Mac computers. In fact, Monterey-Salinas residents rank 30% above average for being Apple users.
9. Santa Barbara-Santa Maria-San Luis Obispo, CA: Aside from breathtaking views and sun-drenched beaches, the Santa Barbara DMA is home to 141,000 Apple users, 27.9% of area adults. Residents can take their pick of two Apple stores—one in Santa Barbara and another in San Luis Obispo—to fill all their Apple needs.
10. Las Vegas, NV: Sin City-area residents are also 29% more likely than average to be users of Apple products. Approximately 408,000 of the DMA's 1.5 million adults (27.9%) use either an iPod, iPhone or Mac, or all three.

Should Apple start opening Apple Stores in rural America to get ppl to buy their products?
Do u feel ashamed of your city for not being on this list?
Are apple products perfectly designed products that God created thru the prophet Steve Jobs?
Do people in rural America not understand how technology is useful?
Is San Diego ‘more alt’ than NYC for beating them on this list?
Do u think one day the entire country will only use Apple products?
Should I buy an iPhone or get an iPad with a skype app?
Do u live in a relevant Apple city, or a rural PC shit hole?

Did you see MGMT on SNL? Was it a snoozefest, or a transcendent performance?

I think is all about booking mainstream indie bands as their music guests. Sort of like the final step of the buzz process where you are branded as a ‘kewl underground product’ that even the laggards of American society will begin to think is ’super trendy.’ was on and they played “Flash Delirium” and some song called “Brian Eno.” It seemed like it might have been ‘inaccessible’ to mainstreamers who just want to watch the Kings of Leon / Nickelback / Ke$ha get their music on when they watch . Feel like maybe booking was a ‘reach’ for SNL to be ‘trendy’, like trying to appeal to the same blog viral buzz content consuming Americans who think Andy Samberg shorts are ‘funny + cutting edge.’

Should have played “Kids” on ?

Sorta feel like there is a zany bro in who ’stole the show’ by making tons of zany faces at the camera. Maybe he was trying to ‘upstage’ Andrew VanWyngarden, preparing to go solo after ‘dies’ / ‘goes on hiatus.’

Not sure if those are ‘crazy coke eyes’ or just regular eyes.

Did ‘kill it’ on ? Do u like the conceptual jam at the end of this performance?

The crazy coke eyes bro also decided to get conceptual, and play his keyboard using his guitar.

I think they had the reality show star Precious host SNL. Not sure if she brought anything funny 2 the table.

Is continuing to ‘kill it’?
Are memes drying up?
R u pissed that did not play KIDS on SNL?
Are the most authentic mainstream artists of all time?
How many albums will sell in week 2?
Is the latest album ‘accessible’ to mainstream audiences?

31% of women want to sleep with Zooey Deschanel according to some poll

Posted: 25 Apr 2010 10:44 AM PDT

Esquire apparently took some poll and they asked a random group of women who they want to sleep with, and they said they would like to make love to Zooey Deschanel.

Seems like they just tried to give the surveyed women a group of ’shocking’ females that might inspire blog coverage. They probably should have included Lady Gaga and Sarah Palin to get the most blog hits. I feel like my blog might start publishing ’shocking’ poll results generated from population samples that don’t really represent reality.

Wonder if Zooey Deschanel’s lesbian victory means Ben Gibbard is allowed 2 pitch a ‘3some idea’ with minimal repercussions.

Does America even know who Zooey Deschanel is? Feel like most of America would probably say that they want to sleep with Ellen DeGeneres, since they know she loves 2 munch on carpet. Maybe they would just want 2 sleep with Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, or .

Does this poll mean anything, or is it just a ’shocking blog headline’?
Do u ‘get’ why American women would like to ’scissor’ with Zooey Deschanel?
Is Zooey Deschanel the perfect lover for men and women?
Do u wanna do blow with Zooey, look into 1 another’s crazy coke eyes, then fall in love 4 just 1 nite?

If u were a lesbian, who would u sleep with?
a) Alice Glass
b) Zooey Deschanel
c) Little Boots
d) Romy Croft of the XX
e) Ladyhawke
f) Jenny Lewis
g) Cat Power
h) St. Vincent aka Annie Clark

Some dumb broad claims to be “the world’s first iPad DJ.”

Posted: 25 Apr 2010 10:05 AM PDT

Some woman named Rana Sobhany went out and bought a few iPads, then installed some DJ apps on them, and now claims to be ‘the world’s first DJ.’ I think this kind of content is ‘really good’ for tech blog headlines, even if the content is hollow, and she isn’t even a real DJ. People just like reading gadget porn, or something.

From what I understand, the act of DJing is pretty easy / not a real job, so the chances of her coming across as ‘legitimate’ while explaining what she does during a DJ set are ‘close to impossible.’ In addition, it is difficult to tell what her status in society is. Is she a college student? A stay-at-home mom? Some sort of woman with rich parents who is still searching for what she wants to do with her life? Is she one of those people who just hangs out on twitter all of the time, and claims that she is ‘very into technology, gadgets, and social media’? This was probably just seeded by a marketing company to ‘go viral’ since it is ’such easy blog bait.’

Wonder if the will revolutionize the medical industry / DJing industry / personal computing industry?

Is she ‘an idiot’ for not buying the 3G version of the ?

I just went to her website and got kinda depressed, like she is living in some reality where she thinks she is a ‘real asset to society’ now that she called herself the world’s first DJ.

Seems like the name of her project is ‘Destroy the Silence’, something that a class of second graders would have come up with if they had 2 come of with the name of a band, sorta like the hit film ‘School of Rock’ starring Jack Black.

Destroy The Silence is an experiment. No laptops, no synths. Can the revolutionize music creation? Is it possible to rock the house for an hour using only two iPads and an iPhone using only apps downloaded from the App Store? One girl ventures to find out.

Might call her booking agent, see if she costs more than Girl Talk. Wonder if she will get mad gigs, like getting to open up for Yellowcard / Weezer or something.

Just wached this video of her ‘taking a set seriously.’

She also posted a clip of a DJ set that she used, using only progressive apps.

Feeling sad for her, like she doesn’t understand modern DJ culture. Like she can just claim to have a technological gimmick, then make ‘mad money’ cuz she was blogged abt.

I feel really embarrassed about this meme. This sort of reminds me of when social media was ‘invented’ then bands spend 2-3 years giving interviews about how they were using ‘new technology’ to reach their fans. The ‘media’ made it seem like they were progressive, but no1 really cared.

Do u think any1 claims 2 be the world’s first Ableton DJ?
Do u think any1 claimed 2 be the world’s first iPod DJ?
Do u think any1 claimed 2 be the world’s first Serato DJ?

Should I be the world’s first first Apple Performa DJ?

Should I be the world’s first Chili’s DJ, DJing with only Chili’s food?

Should I book this woman for SXSW 2012, or will her career be over by then?

Is this woman a talented DJ, or ‘just another internet fame whore’?
Do yall feel kinda embarrassed 4 her when you watch her DJing/explaining what DJs do?
Is DJing a real job, or is iTunes the ultimate DJ? [via apple products]
