Ke$ha performs on SNL, metaphorically poo poos all over the stage

Ke$ha performed on Saturday Night Live last night. Apparently she had the #1 single in America for a while, called “Tik Tok.” The song is about living in Los Angeles and having a party lifestyle, so I think teens + tweens were into it, cuz she says that she brushes her teeth with a ‘bottle of Jack’ in the song. I think she really ‘tanked’ on stage. Like she should have just ‘pooped’ on stage, then rolled around in it for a while, and it would have been an identical consumer experience.

A lot of people call Ke$ha some sort of product that was meant to appeal to people as an after-market Lady Gaga product. Sort of like a touch pad phone that isn’t an iPhone. I feel bad for her, like she has no identity. Must be hard to be a female musicians, since you can only be like 2-3 types of performers.

Not sure how I am supposed to feel about her vocals when she performs live. She seems to be a studio musician who relies on auto-tune rapping, so she probably ruins her brand whenever she performs live.

In her performance of “Your Love is My Drug”, she painted her body with glow-in-the-dark paint, and made her entire backing band + dancers do the same. Probably looked ‘hella tacky’ on HD TV.

I wonder what it is like to be in the ‘backing band’ of an artist like Ke$ha. Even when her ideas suck, do u just have to ‘run with them’ or else you get fired? I feel like it might be the same as having an out-of-touch, tyrannical boss.

Is this the greatest performance in the history of SNL?
Should SNL stick with mainstream indie bands?
Is Ke$ha authentic?
Is Ke$ha ‘better than Uffie’?
Is Ke$ha just a poor man’s Lady Gaga?
Is Ke$ha sexy, or does she look exactly like John Travolta?

One day, I will break free from my job in corporate America. Working in my cubicle all day, relying on a larger corporation to pay me every month so that I can survive. I work in a generic office building, one that you drive by every day, but you don’t really understand what exactly has to happen for the business to survive. I work in one of many departments, feeling like a ‘brick in the wall’ with a bunch of other people who are in the same pay-bracket as me.

So many employers don’t understand how architecture can change the way that they do business. Positive community space can enable workers to bond, work, thrive, and build peer-2-peer sharing networks of business information and intelligence.

H8 being stuck in my cubicle all day. Feel sad that all I can dream of is ‘getting my own office’ one day, but even that is just a bigger cubicle.

What I really want
is 2 break free
from a company employing me
and to break out of my cubicle

My dream is to be self-employed
living the American Dream
doing my work
in a progressive space
that enables me to make millions of dollars.

I want to be self-employed and work in a conceptual work space / modern cubicle that integrates itself into the space in my regional community.

I want a window that overlooks my backyard. Watch my children grow. Monitoring the dog, making sure he doesn’t ‘dig up the flowers.’

Might build a spherical pod that can roll around, move it into a public park on a beautiful day. If there is a flood, I will just ‘float on’ kinda like that Modest Mouse song.

Being self-employed is the American Dream
Having a portal where u can sit in front of a computer
and make money
may or may not be the modern version of the American Dream

Maybe I can start an mp3 music streaming service
a blog website
a music reviews zine
the next facebook
a microblogging community
a meme blog about hipster sea monkeys
The possibilities are endless
as long as I have
the right space to work in

A pod that represents ‘the future’
like a space pod
that could feasibly exist in outerspace
looking out the window at Earth
floating above all
transcending all companies.

I want a Lincoln Log cabin. A modern take on an old ideal space. A place where ’shit can get done.’

I want a space that enables me to write a modern version of the Gettysburg Address
Perhaps a meme blog called ‘The Williamsburg Address’ that makes fun of hipsters
who live in the Williamsburg area of New York / Virginia

My company will be strong, progressive, small.
A tight nit family of workers who truly share ideas to create a better world.
Handling conference calls, browsing the internet, making deals, selling goods + one-of-a-kind services
on the internet.

in order to make positive changes in our ever-changing societal world

In terms of their album art / , are most famous for stealing the Madonna image from some other artist. I think since they eventually had to ’settle’ with that artist and purchase the rights to use that image, they will keep using it, even though they designed two kewl new shirts to sell to their fans. I think they also stole the Chanel logo for a while, but didn’t have enough money to buy that 1 to put on t-shirts.

Pictured is the merch booth. Do u think these shirts are gonna generate more revenue than album sales?
Do u think the ’sad face’ one will sell well, or is that one ‘kinda lame’?

Just saw this picture of John Mayer in some sort of circle of pals at Coachella, a new music festival somewhere in California. Since I am trying to ‘turn into a gossip blog’, feel like I am allowed to create interesting, yet misleading headlines. Not sure if he was actually trying to ‘get’ with Agyness Deyn, or if she would even be into him. She dated one of the Strokes [via Green Aggs and Ham] so she theoretically would date John Mayer to take her modeling career to the next level. I encourage and support her if she decides to date John Mayer, then have ‘a meltdown’ like that one girl who was on Friends [via NBC].

Wonder if he got turned on by her little boy haircut / buzz cut. Also u were probably able to see some sweet nip slips since her dress is so ‘provocative.’

John Mayer was probably intimidated by the ultra- alt 4 life guys that she is with. Feel scared of them, like they have personal brands that could provide 1 year’s worth of content for ‘hipster bashing snark blogs.’

Wonder if he got intimidated by their alt-ness, then just decided to ‘try 2 bang some big, beautiful woman.’

While many indie music blogs will tell you that Jay-Z attending an indie concert is ‘kewl’ because he is ‘digging our culture’, it has actually become a frightening trend in the modern indiesphere. It seems like he is trying to steal ‘what is ours’, and presenting it to new mainstream audiences who won’t appreciate the organic indie buzz internet scene. Even though most inauthentic indie fans will feel a sense of approval / legitimacy when some one famous likes the same music as they do, it doesn’t mean they should be allowed to ’steal’ the culture/movement that ‘we’ created by illegally downloading mp3s.

Jay-Z was reportedly ‘in the audience’ at the XX’s coachella performance. This was reported by veteran twitter journalist Diplo while he was at Coachella, possibly just to attach himself to the meme and get more followers.

I was watching MGMT in the dance hall tent when this happened, otherwise I probably would have confronted Jay-Z, and told him 2 stay away from Coachella, even though most mainstreamers probably paid 2 see him.

What is Jay-Z most likely to sample first?
a) Grizzly Bear “Two Weeks”
b) Dirty Projectors “Stillness is the Move”
c) The XX “Intro”
d) choose yalls own indie response

Will “Jay-Z watching the XX at coachella” photos emerge, or will this event remain a twitter myth forever?
Was Jay-Z mobbed like he was at the Brooklyn Grizzly Bear show?

Should Grizzly Bear + The Dirty Projectors feel bad that Jay-Z ‘ditched them’ for a younger, newer buzzband?
Is the XX here 2 stay as an indie force, or did they just exploit a weak flow of new artists in late 2k9?
