Did Shaq betray the black community by appearing in an Owl City video?

Posted: 24 Mar 2010 03:13 PM PDT

Do yall like the Postal Service?
Then yall should check out this buzzband called the Owl Cities.
It is basically one electro garageband genius making sick nasty pop songs.

After a basketball career characterized by wasted potential, Shaquille O’Neal is about to officially be ‘flushed down the toilet.’ Not sure if

Does n e 1 know why Shaq is in this video? Is he still trying to ‘crossover’?

If u had a tween son and he was listening to Owl City, would u be worried that he was ‘a homo fag’?

Is the Owl City bro some sort of lost alt tween trapped in the body of a 29 year old man?

Did Shaq betray the black community? Should he stay in rap videos?
Is ‘Vanilla Twilight’ some sort of metaphor about ‘cumming in some1’s face’?

OPEN POLL: What will u do if Animal Collective breaks up 4ever?

Posted: 24 Mar 2010 11:19 AM PDT

After reading the recent news story about AnCo breaking up, I got really scared and felt really empty. I feel like no indie band has ever meant more 2 more ppl. It seems like this might be the modern day equivalent of the Beatles breaking up or something.

Just wanted 2 see what yall would do if their current ‘hiatus’ lasts 4evr.

OPEN POLL

Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post's poll.
Is it natural to feel hurt and betrayed?
Should Congress pass a law that keeps certain bands from breaking up?
Will AnCo ‘pull a Pavement’ in 15 years and unretire?
What will u do if AnCo breaks up forever?
Is Animal Collective ‘letting us down’ by not making music for us, or do we need to be ‘considerate’ and give them their space?

so many emotions running thru my blood
like we will have 2 search 4 new content
as AnCo goes dormant
and 2k10 continues 2 flop

We’ll always have 2k9.
miss u

Neon Indian Bro interviewed by Nylon pseudo-journalist in the back of a van

Posted: 24 Mar 2010 09:41 AM PDT

The Neon Indian Bro was interviewed by some Nylon Magazine ‘journalist.’ I feel confused by their brand. Can’t tell if she is a talented video journalist, or if this low-budget interview style is supposed to strengthen their magazine’s brand. Seems like she came to the table with a bunch of relevant questions from 1 year ago. The only good part of the video is when Neon Indian claims he was visited by an alien when he was a child.

Also funnie when she asks him ‘R u the leader of the glo-fi movement?’

Do u think she was just trying to ‘bone’ the Neon Indian bro?
Photobucket
Are women good at interviewing / journalist?
Are females in the media only respected if they are ’sexy’?
Are women’s magazines naturally inferior to men’s magazines?
Was this broad ‘flirting’ with Neon Indian bro?
When will Nylon ‘go under’?
Have u ever had sex/received oral sex in the back of a van or SUV?

Macy Gray and a Choir of Black Women do a shameful Arcade Fire Cover

Posted: 24 Mar 2010 07:55 AM PDT

You might remember from her hit song ‘I Try’ in the year 1999. She is just one of those one-hit wonders who had an ‘interesting voice’ then never really made another relatable mp3 for the world to consume. I think she is one of those large black women who is ‘happy with the way she looks’ and doesn’t shave her arm pits, etc. in order to get people to buy into her brand.

For some reason, she was booked to play Perez Hilton’s SXSW Party. She did a cover of the Arcade Fire’s “Wake Up.” Wonder if she is trying to get some ‘buzz’ from alt blogs. If u listen closely, u can hear a DJ ’scratching’ to make the song ‘more emotional.’

Do u think she found out about the Arcade Fire after the Super Bowl ads or after the Where the Wild Things Are previews?
Was this cover authentic? Should the Arcade Fire add a choir of large black women 2 their tour?

Is a ‘disgrace’?
Is the Arcade Fire a legacy indie band who shouldn’t be tainted?
Is covering the Arcade Fire as lame as covering the Beatles?
Is the Arcade Fire’s next album going to ‘flop’ since they already wrote the most definitive songs that they could possibly write?
Is the Arcade fires mainstream?
Is ‘Wake Up’ the ‘Feel It All Around’ of the pre-chillwave era?

Do yall miss early ?

I am the modern ice cream man.

I am the bro
with on my shoulders
hungry 4 sweet, frozen, creamy treats

I am not the man
driving a truck thru the poor part of town
selling ice treats to children
I am the modern man.

Still want to be as approachable as the mainstream man
might attach a boombox to my wardrobe
and play inviting music
letting people know
the Bro is coming

. So many flavors.

Kinda represents how many different personal brands u can have.
Every1 has a different favourite flavor of .
No1 wants to be ‘plain vanilla.’

So weird how u can make a metaphor about n e 1 with .
White people = vanilla
Black People = Rocky Road
AZNs = Ramen
Mexicans = bean and cheese
Gheys = rainbow sherbert
Jews = Latke
_________ = ____________

some people like
some people like froyo
also known as frozen yogurt

wonder if when i grow past my phase
then get ‘health conscious’
if I will talk myself into being Froyo Bro

Might even start a self-serve frozen yogurt chain

encouraging people
to get crazy serving sizes
with even crazier topping selections

capn crunch
molten chocolate
oreos
reese’s pb cups
fresh fruit
weird azn shit
human hair

might just buy a trusted froyo franchise like Pink Berry

might just buy a Baskin Robbins franchise

So many flaves

so many choices
so many ppl in this world

maybe
is what will set us free
cuz it represents
how we are all our unique flavor
unless ur into froyo
then u can just pour ur own cup
and add ur own custom toppings

Laters,
Bro

Will shoulder pads be the hot new summer look?
What is more authentic: or frozen yogurt?
What toppings do u get on ur froyo?
