HIPSTER RUNOFF

HIPSTER RUNOFF

MGMT fan writes “MGMT” on her breasts on 4chan (NSFW)

Posted: 17 Mar 2010 03:27 PM PDT

In an effort to get message boarding bros to vote for in some meaningless poll, an indie music fan of the popular band promised to show off her alternative breasts to bros who were hanging out on 4chan.

Here is her proposition to the board.

Eventually, the message boarding bros got her to take off all of her clothes, and even show her vagina hole and the hole that she poops out of (but u can still have sex with that hole if u want 2 but u won’t get pregnant.)

As of now, is losing in the meaningless poll that she wanted them to vote in.

Was it ‘worth it’ to see these sweet alt titties? [Also see: Picture 1 Picture 2]

Do yall ‘luv ’ and ‘h8 others’?
Are fans authentic or is it just sweet to get some titties on the internet any way possible?
Is 4chan ‘the most beautiful’ website on the internet?
Will 4chan replace music blogs an authentic incubator of buzz bands?
Will 4chan replace the government?
Is /b/ a chill place?
Is the new Grateful Dead, or is Animal Collective still the new Grateful Dead?
Was this just a marketing gimmick by the record company to ‘generate’ viral buzz for their upcoming album?
Will these breasts help fans to ‘forgive’ after the disappointing first single “Flash Delirium.”

Butch Lezbo gets in fight at Uffie show

Posted: 17 Mar 2010 02:59 PM PDT

Recently, a butch lesbian got in a fight at an Uffie concert in Los Angeles. The fight took place at the front of the crowd, so we should assume that she ‘forced her way to the front’ even though she didn’t arrive at the show 5 hours early. This is the source of most fights at shows.

This photo demonstrates the butch lesbian getting ’served’ with a knuckle sandwich.

Wish we lived in a world where we could all just chill at Uffie shows without violence.  Wonder if this will impact her acceptance by the gay / homosexual community [via Lady Gaga].

Seems like the crowd was relieved when she was ‘ejected.’  Some bros were just happy to be ‘in the front’/getting personal coverage on the cobrasnake.

Wonder if it was just a fight to be bros with the cobrasnake, Uffie, and .

Have yall ever been in a fight at a show?
Was it with a photographer / person on drugs?

Do yall feel safe at shows?
Has any1 ever moved in front of u at a show, then u got pissed?
Do only ‘entry levelers’ get in fights at shows?
What’s ur favourite ‘fight a show’ story?
R butch lezbos ‘too aggressive’?

Was it unsafe for Uffie to crowdsurf into this dangerous crowd?

Did the new Hot Chip video rip off ‘All the Small Things’ by Blink 182?

Posted: 17 Mar 2010 10:25 AM PDT

The new Hot Chip video seems like it is trying to trick people into thinking that they are a boy band. Then the video ‘gets all zany’ and some guy with cancer starts to shoot lasers at the members of the boy band, then joins the boy band, then some black guy shoots lasers out of his eyes and kills the boy band.

Confused. Relieved that the video features tons of hot entry level alt tween girls in wayfarers with clear lenses + Palestinian scarves.

Wonder if this is supposed to be ‘loved by alts’ because it is commentary on the mainstream, or if it is supposed to ‘crossover’ into mainstreamland because it provides commentary on a ~10 year old part of pop culture. (Maybe these bands are still big in Europe.) It seems like this might have been relevant criticism of the boy band phenomenon during the early 2000s / late 1990s, during the peak of Backstreet Boy / NSYNC mania.

Seems plausible that they ‘ripped off’ this idea from Blink 182, who made the timely video for ‘All the Small Things’ in 2000, which parodied the boy band craze of the late 1990s. Maybe it is time to start re-thinking Blink 182 as one of the greatest/most important bands of all time.

Is Blink 182 the perfect alternative band?

Was this video ‘alt’?
Was it good to see Hot Chip make something that didn’t involve dancing in front of green screens?
Is it still relevant to make fun of boybands 10 years later?
Did Hot Chip rip off Blink 182?
Can patients undergoing chemotherapy shoot lasers from their mouths ?

Whitest Boy Alive plays Mexico City, Erlend Oye has glasses stolen by unruly Mexis

Posted: 17 Mar 2010 09:49 AM PDT

The Whitest Boy Alive is a band that contains the member Erlend Oye, one of the most beloved alt celebs of all time. Their show is known as an indie pop fiesta which features dancing + chill vibes… Recently, they played a show in Mexico City, and Erlend Oye had his glasses stolen by the crowd. In the video, you can see the awkward moment as he climbed the balcony, had his glasses removed, then had people yelling “lentes, lentes”, which we assume is the Spanish /Mexican word for glasses. Erlend has the ultimate face of ‘not chill, bro’ to all of the Mexican fans.

Glasses are one of the only ways that people with poor vision can see, so the band immediately quit the show. The glasses were reportedly broken as he climbed into a crowd of Mexi alt teens /a sea of Mexican children.

Fan Account from the exclusive Alt Report TIP LINE:

Yesterday I went to photograph a The Whitest Boy Alive show at a shitty night club (in Mexico city) and when it was about to end, Erlend Oye decided to climb a balcony to sing with some of his fans and obviously all the hipsters there wanted to touch him, so suddenly they broke Erlend’s glasses. He managed to keep a piece of the broken glasses but there was another piece missing. He climbed down, and told them: hey, give me my glasses back , I can´t see a thing

No one gave them back and the show ended. There were more than 2000 Erlend clones enraged because they didn´t get an encore.
I think it was pretty funny, you don´t throw yourself at people when you virtually depend on your glasses, or at least you carry another pair for emergencies.

Was the Erlend Oye’s fault for climbing into the balcony?
When you go to Mexico, can u expect them to ‘play by the rules’?
Would this have happened in America?
Should Mexico pay the bill for his prescription glasses, or do they not have vision / dental coverage with his health insurance?

The Whitest Boy Alive wrote a letter to the Mexican Alt Audience:

dear mexican audience
….i am writing these few words to make one thing clear.

the show yesterday ended like that, because somebody stole erlend’s glasses.
that’s fucked up, but it does NOT mean the end of the world.
the show was almost at it’s end anyway, we were going to play maybe two more songs
so you didn’t really miss out on something amazing.

of course there was better ways to end the evening, but you have to know
erlend doesn’t see without glasses, and that’s why we couldn’t continue playing.
yes he was upset, but that’s not why we didn’t finish properly.
it’s just impossible to play, sing, dance and entertain people without seeing them.

let’s forget about this strange ending and try to remember the good time we had
and we had some good time.

we are going home now after 3 great weeks in your beautiful country
and we will always come back, don’t worry

see you in a year or two
maybe coachella???

marcin

Does the band sound ‘pissed’?
Did the band do the right thing by stopping their show?
Should Erlend have had backup glasses / rec specs / contacts / eye surgery?
Was it chill when the crowd started to chant ‘culero’?
Have yall ever had something stolen from u / broken by other people in front of u?
Did Mexico ruin this chill, indie pop experience?
Did these Mexican fans think that his glasses were just a silly accessory, but not actually a way for him to be able 2 see?

New ‘it girl’ model confined to wheel chair

Posted: 16 Mar 2010 08:06 PM PDT

Recently, the new trend of handicapped started 2 take over retail brochures / fashion runways everywhere. Apparently, some brand in the UK hired a handicapped model, and it is intended to help ‘crossover’ into new markets.

The disabled model, , seems like she might be the next big ‘it girl’. Fashion/branding is just a contest to get the most people ‘talking’, so it is only a matter of time before the biggest designers in the world ‘book’ her to wheel down their runway.

British department store Debenhams is set to become the first UK high street retailer to feature a disabled model in its campaign. shines in front of the camera in the latest fashions from Debenhams.

Photographed alongside with two other of varying size, the three showcase the department store's latest gear.

Beside this progressive campaign, Debenhams was also one the first to have plus sized mannequins and because of this, it has proven to be more than fashion forward, but forward-thinking as well.

Do u feel like u will buy clothes from designers who are chill with disabled ppl?

Will designers ‘book’ this model, or will she just be used in Target clothing line campaigns?
Is the next big ‘it girl’?
Is the new Cory Kennedy / Agyness Deyn / Cindy Crawford / Heidi Klum?
Will Am Appy hire a disabled sexie model?
