Just read about a ‘kewl new drug’ that u can buy on the internet. It seems like u could really ‘party hard’ on this drug. Wonder if meow meow will lead us out of the chill wave era.
Here is an ‘informative quote’ about the drug:
Meow Meow (mephedrone) is easily, and legally, bought over the internet where it is often advertised as plant feed. When taken as a tablet, or snorted as a powder, it gives a similar high to Ecstasy and abuse has taken off in the UK over the past couple of years…The drug is likely to be one of the first items on the agenda for Professor Les Iversen*, the Government's new drugs czar. Other "legal highs" such as BZP (a derivative of a worming agent) and GBL (paint stripper) have now been reclassified as Class C drugs under the Misuse of Drugs Act, but mephedrone — and a similar drug, salvia or "herbal ecstasy" (the leaves of the Mexican plant Salvia divinorum) — are now under review.
Also read sensational story that a bro ripped off his scrotum while on meow meow:
It has been linked to one death so far in the UK — a 14-year old girl who took it at a party near Brighton — and there have been a number of people admitted to hospital with bizarre side-effects, including a teenage boy, who is reported to have had such severe hallucinations that he ripped off his scrotum.
Have u ever done meow meow? Have u ever ripped off ur scrotum? Will meowmeow inspire a genre of music calle meowmeowwave? Will this drug be worse for u than cigarettes?
Popular website/magazine The Village Voice had a blogger put the faces of indie celebs on ‘guido’ bodies, seeking meme approval from indie music fans and fans of ‘Jersey Shore mania.’ I am not sure if you can recognize the lead singer of Vampy Weeks in the preceding photographmeme.
It seems like a good strategy for ‘twitter buzz.’ I could see a lot of bros ‘retweeting’ Thom Yorke guido content.
Not sure if the Feist bubble has burst.
Is this gimmick a ’solid one’? Will it get ‘tons of hits’/twitbuzz? Is ‘considering Jersey Shore 2 be funnie’ mainstream?
Apparently this is a ‘rejected’ video for Passion Pit’s hit song “Sleepy Head.” There are ‘tons of rumors going around’ as to how it leaked, but it was made in the era before Passion Pit was signed to a major label and got ‘a powerful management team.’ We can only assume that this video was made/leaked by an earnest artistic videomaker whose concept ‘got the shaft’ after Passion Pit got ‘crazy budgets’ and didn’t need the pro bono work of video artist bros.
Pashy Pit’s MGMT tells popular mp3 blog Sterrygum:
This video was shot before French Kiss/Columbia and Team 8 Management were involved with Passion Pit. The video precedes the current video of “Sleepyhead” … and was rejected by the band and management. We don’t know who leaked the video, but can assure you that it did not come from our camp.
Did Passion Pit reject the initial video because it ’seemed too entry-level’ and they needed to chase corporate dollars instead of being a cutesy handclappy synth band?
Is the ‘leaked’ video ‘better’ than the ‘official’ 1?
Or are they ‘equally shitty’? What’s the difference between an ‘official’ music video and a ‘fan’ video? Have u ever had a nightmare where ’sleepy head’ played over and over again at a Pashy Pit concert full of entry level alts?
Alt novelist/poet Tao Lin’s ‘dramatically’ blogged his new book’s cover art. Richard Yates will ‘drop’ in September. Not sure if ‘book releases’ are the same as ‘album releases.’ Will this book’s title be as ‘catchy’/meme-worthy/alt-appealing as Shoplifting from American Apparel?
From what I understand, you are officially a ‘culturally transcendental’ band when you appear on the Simpsons, since that show has been on TV for 20+ years, building a global brand that spans generations. Wonder if indie artist agents should start trying to book their clients on ‘The Simpsons’ instead of Jimmy Fallon/Carson Daly/other Late-Late Night television. Maybe indie bands should start trying to be on ‘Fammy Guy’ or ‘South Park Town’, but not sure if ‘real people’ have time 2 watch cartoons.
Watch lead singer bro ‘Chris Martin’ being ‘Chris Martin’ while he ‘drops lines’ in the soundbooth.
Do u know n e 1 who still ‘watches the Simpsons’? Do u know n e 1 who ’still thinks Coldplay is an underground band’?
Founder of Pitchfork Media and internet millionaire Ryan Schrieber tweets a ‘positive reaction’ to the Alt Report.
If Pitchfork could review the Alt Report, what rating would it get? Probs like a 7.9-8.2 with a ‘Best New Music’ anointing, showing noncommittal interest, making it clear that they like u now, but ‘the best years are ahead of u.’
