Clone Wars Asajj Ventress action figure looks ... Posted: 23 Jul 2008 09:31 PM CDT Lousy. The new design is dramatically inferior to one of my all-time favorite action figures. You can see lots more photos of the Clone Wars line of action figures here. I picked a few up last week. FYI, Grievous is so badly balanced, that he will not stand for long without falling over. He also has no articulation in his arms. Like Asajj, dramatically inferior to the old animated figure. Obi-Wan in full armor is very cool, though. |

Government worker retires rather than honor Jesse Helms Posted: 23 Jul 2008 09:06 PM CDT The North Carolina Governor ordered all state agencies to lower flags to half-staff to honor Jesse Helms. L.F. Eason III, a 29-year veteran of the Department of Agriculture, refused in light of Helms "doctrine of negativity, hate, and prejudice," including his opposition to civil rights bills and the federal Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Eason retired rather than give in. Link. Via. If you'd like to know more about Helms, try "Farewell to a provincial redneck" by Christopher Hitchens. |

Wired's artifacts from the future Posted: 23 Jul 2008 08:17 PM CDT Handy links to each months artifact, dating back to November 2004. I definitely thought the artifact was the highlight of the issue back when I had a subscription. |
